Castle will oversee water and science policyy for thesprawling land-usw agency, and will be responsible for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamatiomn and the U.S. Geological Survey. “Ann e Castle has more than 25 years of experiencse inwater rights, water quality, and naturalo resources law,” Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, a forme r Colorado senator and attorney general, said in a statement. “I welcom Anne to our leadershilp team and look forward to working with her on the majotr water and science challenges we fromclimate impacts, to droughtr and regional water issues.” The U,S, Senate votesd Friday to confirm Castle.
She has servee on a number of Colorado panels concerned with wate andland use, including the Southh Platte River Basin Task Force, the Coloradi Ground Water Commission, and the Genesee Water and Sanitatiobn District. At Denver-based Holland & the largest locally based firm, Castle has focused on watert rights issues. She is a former chairwoman of Hollane & Hart’s management committee and of its naturallresources department. In 2005 she was a finalist for the DenverdBusiness Journal’s “Outstanding Women in Business” in the professionao services category. . .
